CXD Lab attended the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems 2026 (CHI 2026) in Barcelona, Spain. Lab members Phuong Vu Thao, Wooje Kang, Hyunju Kim, and Prof. Bokyung Lee participated in the conference together, making it a meaningful opportunity for research presentation, academic exchange, and lab community building.
During the conference, our members presented their research, attended paper sessions and talks, and learned from the latest work across the broader HCI community. CHI provided an inspiring environment to engage with diverse research topics, from embodied interaction and extended reality to creativity support, cultural experiences, AI-mediated systems, and human-centered design.
The trip also offered valuable opportunities for in-person research meetings and conversations with collaborators and fellow researchers. Through these exchanges, the lab members discussed ongoing projects, received feedback, explored future research directions, and strengthened academic connections beyond the lab.
Beyond the conference venue, the team also spent time exploring Barcelona together. Experiencing the city’s architecture, culture, public spaces, and food added another layer of inspiration to the trip, especially for a lab interested in convergence, experience design, media, and human-centered interaction.
Attending CHI 2026 as a group was a memorable milestone for CXD Lab. It allowed us not only to share our work with the international HCI community, but also to learn together, reflect on our research directions, and build stronger connections as a lab.

CXD Lab은 스페인 바르셀로나에서 열린 **ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems 2026(CHI 2026)**에 함께 참가했습니다. 이번 학회에는 Phuong Vu Thao, Wooje Kang, Hyunju Kim, Prof. Bokyung Lee가 참석하여 연구 발표, 학술 교류, 연구 미팅, 그리고 랩 구성원 간의 의미 있는 시간을 함께 보냈습니다.
학회 기간 동안 연구실 구성원들은 각자의 연구를 발표하고, 다양한 논문 세션과 발표를 들으며 HCI 분야의 최신 연구 흐름을 배울 수 있었습니다. CHI는 신체 기반 인터랙션, 확장현실, 창작 지원 시스템, 문화 경험, AI 기반 시스템, 인간 중심 디자인 등 폭넓은 주제를 접할 수 있는 중요한 학술 교류의 장이었습니다.
또한 이번 학회 참가는 여러 연구자 및 협업자들과 직접 만나 연구 미팅을 진행할 수 있는 소중한 기회이기도 했습니다. 연구실 구성원들은 진행 중인 프로젝트에 대한 피드백을 나누고, 향후 연구 방향을 논의하며, 랩 밖의 연구 커뮤니티와도 학문적 연결을 확장할 수 있었습니다.
학회 일정 외에도 연구실 구성원들은 바르셀로나를 함께 둘러보며 도시의 건축, 문화, 공공공간, 음식 등을 경험했습니다. 이러한 도시 경험은 convergence, experience design, media, human-centered interaction을 탐구하는 CXD Lab의 연구 관심사와도 자연스럽게 연결되며, 새로운 영감을 얻는 시간이 되었습니다.
CHI 2026에 연구실 구성원들이 함께 참가한 것은 CXD Lab에게 뜻깊은 순간이었습니다. 이번 경험을 통해 우리는 국제 HCI 커뮤니티에 연구를 공유했을 뿐 아니라, 함께 배우고, 연구 방향을 성찰하며, 연구실 공동체로서의 연결을 더욱 단단히 할 수 있었습니다.
