CDM1001: Introduction to Culture and Design Management

Interdisciplinary thinking lies at the heart of Culture and Design Management. This course introduces fundamental perspectives, concepts, and methods across culture, design, management, UX, technology, art, branding, and marketing. Through lectures, case discussions, and interdisciplinary projects, students will learn to connect these domains and develop thoughtful strategies for real-world opportunities.

This course is composed of two parts: (i) CDM's Design Lens Series (w1–w8) and (ii) CDM's Integrated Design Thinking Series (w9–w16). For each part, a series of lectures will be given to provide fundamental knowledge and principles about each topic. Then, students will conduct corresponding case studies or in-class group activities each week to gain an in-depth understanding and finish term projects through integrated comprehension of what they have learned.
